1. Apologies
Apologies have been received from Alison McVie, Catriona MacAulay and Alistair Morrison.
2. Approval of Minutes.
The minutes of February’s meeting were approved by Janet Marshall. April’s notes were approved by Kath Mace.
3. Matters Arising
3.1 Issue: Domestic Issues
Discussion: There have been a lot of Domestic bank staff recruited recently and some part time Domestic staff have not been getting their usual extra hours.
3.2 Issue: Health & Social Care Integration
Discussion: The CEO held an open meeting for staff recently to talk about H&SC Integration. Various comments have been received about this meeting and some staff are concerned about the lack of agreement between the Health Board and the Comhairle and the model which maybe imposed on both organisations.
4. Treasurers Report
4.1 Issue: Report
Discussion: The Treasurer submitted a report stating the balance at 30th April 2014 is £11,733.56.This does not include the £3,151.66 that went into the LG bank account in error from IMPS. This should be in our branch’s account in May.
5. Secretary’s Report
5.1 Issue: Report
Discussion: In March there were 0 Joiners and 4 leavers. In April there was 1 Joiner and 0 leavers. The NMC Template letters will be sent for the attention of Nurse Members. The Secretary will send the template letter to the local MP.
6. Welfare Report
6.1 Issue: There is nothing to report on Welfare this month.
7. Health & Safety
7.1 Issue: H&S Meeting
Discussion: There will be a H&S meeting held next week. The Health & Safety Adviser Ross Munro is to identify a dates for a walk around and hopefully Health & Safety reps will be sourced in each department.
8. Education
8.1 Issue: Report
Discussion: The Education Officer submitted a report stating the Union Learning Management certificate course is currently underway at the Lews Castle College and the Retirement course in Stornoway is fully booked on 15th May 2014.
9. National Conference
9.1 Issue: National Conference Brighton
Discussion: The flights and hotels have been booked for the conference.
10. AOCB
10.1 Issue: Mrec
Discussion: Janet Marshall has been attending the EMrec meetings. A demo will be held in Medical Records.
